Satellites
SES WORLD SKIES’ combined fleet of 27 spacecraft provides comprehensive coverage of the world’s populated landmasses, as well as ubiquitous trans-oceanic overage. The fleet comprises the AMC satellites over North America, the NSS fleet covering the rest of the globe and soon, a new generation of satellites that will bear the SES name. Beginning in 2010, all new additions to the SES WORLD SKIES fleet will carry the “SES” prefix. SES-1, successfully launched on 24 April 2010, is the first in this new generation of satellites.
