Direct-to-home broadcast
The design of SES WORLD SKIES' existing in-orbit fleet, as well as future spacecraft, offers current and prospective direct-to-home operators some of the highest Ku-band transmission power available for the distribution of digital programming packages direct to consumers' homes using ultra-small antennas.
DTH in Africa
Direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting requires powerful transmission capabilities to deliver digital quality video and audio to antennas as small as 75 centimeters. SES WORLD SKIES' NSS-7 satellite features broad, high-power Ku-band coverage of the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The spacecraft's West Africa spot beam is so powerful it was selected by BT Broadcast Services to launch a DTH platform throughout Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal for Media Overseas.
Pan-Asian Video Neighborhood
SES WORLD SKIES is committed to developing and growing a high value video community in Asia. Our Asian satellites, NSS-11 at 108.2° East and NSS-6 at 95° East are currently home to a rapidly expanding neighborhood of approximately 450 channels, broadcasting a diverse array of programming to millions of homes throughout the region.
DTH in North America through Home2US Communications
The AMC-4 satellite is home to an international direct-to-home (DTH) service offered by Home2US Communications. The platform is a fully integrated system, including transmission services such as content contribution, content management, playout, encryption, uplink and distribution, as well as Pay-TV services such as subscriber management, invoicing, installation and customer support.
